As I was recently talking to someone about our Oceanbourne apparel line and the logo design, I was given a very cool lesson!  I was told that turtles are a symbol for both peace and longevity....and that longevity can also be understood as wisdom. I found this interesting and very cool frankly because those are things that we all seem to search for throughout our lives.   

It inspired me to dig a bit more and I found that the turtle as a symbolic sign, also provide us with the lesson about walking a peaceful path and sticking to it with determination and serenity. 

Native Americans viewed the turtle as a sacred figure as it represents Mother Earth., and they also respected that the meaning of the Turtle symbol as signifying good health and long life.  

Slow moving on earth, yet also incredibly fast and agile in water, we can look at turtles and be encouraged to take a break in our busy lives and search within ourselves for more grounded, long-lasting solutions. 

We at Oceanbourne are encouraged by these meanings behind the turtle symbol.  Frankly, we had no idea as we began designing, but we are happy to find out the symbolism behind the turtle.  This newly learned lesson is one we are happy to represent.
